Fabricator/310T Mechanic
Since 1994, County Farm Centre has been providing the Quinte Region with Crop services, Fuel/Home Heat Delivery, Livestock feed and Retail shopping. To accomplish this CFC needs to have a fleet of vehicles that are safe and well maintained. We are currently looking to add a Fabricator/310T Mechanic to our Picton team to continue our legacy of serving the Quinte region.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Under the direction of the Fleet Manager, the 310T Mechanic’s primary responsibility is to perform repairs, preventative maintenance as well as yearly safeties to our fleet of trucks, equipment, and facilities. Must be able to work well within a team environment but are also self-motivated enough to perform capably on their own. Eagerness and the ability to learn new tasks are important to the success and future growth of the County Farm Centre.

2) Strive to understand the mechanics of all equipment at County Farm Centre and take a pivotal role in maintaining, repairing and restoring equipment to ensure reliability and performance. Ability to assess equipment to identify and rectify anticipated issues to further develop our preventative maintenance program.
3) Maintenance of equipment and/or vehicles includes lubricating parts, checking fluid levels, refilling equipment tanks and performing minor and major repairs.
4) Keeps equipment and vehicles clean to maintain professional appearance.
5) Participate in special projects such as new fabrications as needed.
6) Operates all equipment (Eg. liquid sprayer applicator), in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize risk, injury and property damage when required.
7) Assists in inventory physical counting, as required.
8) Maintains accurate records of service and repairs using the Company’s work order and fleet management system.
REQUIREMENTS
- 310T Truck and Coach Technician Apprenticeship/Journeyman a strong asset.
- Experience in Welding and Fabrication a strong asset.
- Must also possess a driving abstract that represents a history of safe operation, as well as the ability to maintain insurability.
- May be required to be trained in the following: Confined Space, Defensive Driving, Lifting Devices (Forklift, Payloader, Skid steer), Lockout/Tagout, Respirator Fit Testing, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Propane Handling Certification, Working at Heights/Fall Arrest.
- Demonstrates safe driving techniques, with ability to operate a vehicle safely and efficiently in adverse road, weather, and traffic conditions; demonstrated time management such as determining cost efficient routes.
- Demonstrates basic math skills, such as the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure and understanding of basic computer skills as they relate to the position.
- Proven ability to work independently, and in a team-oriented environment, and achieve results through others.
- Understanding of basic computer skills as they relate to the custom application business.
May be required to work extended hours, particularly during peak seasons.

Ag-Feed Operator

We are currently looking for Agronomy/Feed Operator to add to our Picton team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Working out of the Picton Branch this position is a hybrid role where from April-November you will be working as an Agronomy employee running custom application equipment (Vector & Sprayers) for the Spring plant season. Then from November-April you will be working as an Feed employee blending & delivering bulk livestock feed to our customers. An ideal candidate must be friendly, a team player, have a great attention to detail and have a strong & clean driving record. They must be able to demonstrate the ability and be eager to learn new tasks and skills that are important to the success and future growth of the County Farm Centre. Some of the daily job functions include:
1) Operates heavy equipment (i.e., dry fertilizer applicator, bulk propane delivery vehicle), in a safe and effective manner to minimize risk, injury and property damage.
2) Applies crop nutrient products to fields and growing crops according to recommended rates and procedures. Records application data according to regulations and standards.
3) Blends ingredients following recipe criteria for livestock feed
4) Provide exceptional customer service and ensure accurate safe transportation and delivery of livestock feed to customers.
5) Drives and operates plant equipment and machinery, such as loaders, forklifts, and/or trucks safely which includes performing the required daily checks to minimize risks, injury, and property damage, inside and/or outside the facility as required.
6) Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
1) a high school diploma, college diploma, or equivalent, or a combination of experience and training to provide the required knowledge and skills.
2) Must possess a driving abstract that represents a history of safe operation, as well as the ability to maintain insurability. Must have a valid DZ license with air brakes and able to drive both a manual and automatic transmission.
3) May be required to work extended hours, particularly during peak seasons.
4) Proven ability to work independently, and in a team-oriented environment, and achieve results through others.
5) Any prior experience with Custom Application Equipment would be an asset.

CROP SPECIALIST

We are currently looking to add a Crop Specialist to our Belleville Agronomy team to continue our legacy of serving the Quinte region. Our ideal candidate is a person who enjoys sales-related work and has a passion for going above and beyond for their customers while helping them achieve their goals and potential.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Under the direction of the Agronomy Manager, the Crop Specialist sells and markets the following products and services to new and existing customers: crops inputs, such as fertilizer, crop protection pesticides, seed products, service income, technical services, and Ag-finance program.
- Implements marketing plans and develops sales strategies that generate profitable sales in the assigned territory.
- Travels to client locations within assigned territory to establish County Farm Centre and the FS brand and obtain orders for products and services.
- Develops territory and competitive analysis to maintain a current knowledge of the marketplace and the competition.
- Provides value-added agronomic products and services (such as soil testing, crop scouting and other programs) and recommendations to both prospective and current customers.
- Schedules product delivery and application to patron locations.
- Conducts regular customer meetings on product and technical information to develop customer relationships and drive sales.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A friendly, positive, and outgoing demeanor with the ability to develop, foster and grow relationships with potential and existing clients.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma with a proven sales history.
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to work without close supervision and be proactive. under time pressure and meet deadlines during the daily, weekly, monthly, and annual account close cycles.
- Willing and able to obtain and maintain applicable professional certifications associated with the agronomy industry. (i.e., CCA, CCS, CPAg, a seller’s or solicitor’s license where required by law and Commercial Applicator w/applicable categories)
- Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
- Knowledge of various agronomy products, services, and programs.
- Ability to operate computers with a working knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet programs.
- May be required to work extended hours, particularly during peak seasons. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Has a minimum of a Class G license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to be trained on various pieces of Lifting Devices (Forklift, Payloader, Skid steer, etc.).
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs.
