County Farm Centre Ltd. began business in January of 1994. Owners Tim and Linda Beatty and John and Rosemary Anderson had purchased the United Co-operators, Picton site. With great expectations the company took up the challenge of agricultural retail in Prince Edward County.

This unique operation encompasses crop inputs, crop custom application, livestock feed, fuel and propane and retail store. These four pillars have become the foundation of County Farm Centre Ltd.

Crop Inputs and custom application have continued to evolve from our beginning days. In December 2008, the agronomy assets of Madoc Co-operative were purchased. Our Foxboro site has continually strived to improve and add services. Both Picton and Foxboro bring our customers up to date information and equipment for the agricultural industry. Our agronomy division currently includes crop inputs, including seed, fertilizers and chemicals, custom application, and precision ag.

The fuel division has continued to expand and offers technology not available from any other fuel distributor. Diesel X Gold technology brings to our agricultural and contractor customer the best Power, Efficiency and Protection for their diesel equipment. Our company currently has 4 petroleum trucks and 9 propane trucks delivering product from Cobourg to Kingston and south to Prince Edward County and north to Havelock. Our service is second to none.

County Farm Centre is a supplier of Masterfeeds products. We offer a complete line of dairy, beef, swine, sheep, horse feeds. People advancing nutrition allows us to bring our customer the latest in feed analysis, fermentrics, and TMR analysis.  Our Feed team offers the customer the latest information with the best service. Our Picton location currently runs two bulk feed trucks, delivering feed in our total trading area.

Our Picton retail store brings customers a great selection in pet care, bird seed, work wear and hardware. In 2002, our Picton location purchased the former building of Prince Edward Fruit Growers Co-operative; allowing expansion for a bright and open store with lots of room for browsing. The expansion involved adding a huge selection of frozen foods and local products.

In 2017, John and Rosemary stepped away from the business, allowing a new partnership to form with Growmark Fs. County Farm Centre is a family owned company, Tim and Linda Beatty along with their sons Kyle and Ryan strive to exemplify our mission, vision and culture to all involved in the business.

We are proud of our heritage since 1994, our focus has been on responding to our customer’s needs by providing quality products and services in our communities. Year after year we’ve been committed to pointing the way forward and ensuring our customers are ready for what’s next.
