Fleet Manager

Since 1994, County Farm Centre has been providing the Quinte Region with Crop services, Fuel/Home Heat Delivery, Livestock feed and Retail shopping. To accomplish this CFC needs to have a fleet of vehicles that are safe and well maintained. We are currently looking to add a Fleet Manager to our team to continue our legacy of serving the Quinte region.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Under the direction of the Branch Manager, the Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing, directing, and enforcing the safe operation, maintenance and compliance of regulatory guidelines and standards related to fleet and fleet licensing. The Fleet Manager is also responsible for maximizing the fleet’s efficiency, managing maintenance budgets and costs incurred, and providing technical expertise to other County Farm Centre Managers. It is expected that the Fleet Manager would build upon the current health and safety culture at County Farm Centre. 

Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc visits to CFC locations promoting and enforcing the safe operation of vehicles and equipment, maintenance and compliance with regulatory guidelines and standards.

Ensure that preventative maintenance for all vehicles in the fleet is complete, having regular reviews of critical programs and fleet tools- ISC Valves/Wheel Nuts indicators/Snipe bars/Chock Blocks/Re-torques/etc.

Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained/repaired in a timely and cost-effective manner. Provide guidance to CFC managers for maintenance repairs that maximize vehicle uptime and minimal disruption to business operations.

Approve all maintenance and repairs over $2,000.00 and verify that work completed meets regulatory standards. Maintain accurate and up to date maintenance files and fleet history for analysis.

Collaborate with CVOR Supervisor to coordinate fleet licensing, the annual licensing renewal and license plates replacements when needed. 

Participate on incident/accident investigations and provide recommendations where required.

Follow up on all safety infractions and issues collaboratively with CFC Managers/Health & Safety Coordinator to ensure that proper actions have been taken.

Keep and maintain Shop inventory of parts as necessary for repairs and maintenance.

Needs to be aware of the relevant government regulatory bodies in the jurisdiction (Transport Canada/ TSSA) and all licensed vehicle related issues to build positive working relationships.

Analyze fleet statistics, fuel consumption, truck utilization and maintenance records; to make recommendations for fleet replacement, disposal, and budgets.

Ensures the safe operation of equipment used in moving goods within the storage facility; also, regularly cleans and maintains equipment and/or vehicles used in receiving and shipping and keeps the storage facilities clean, organized, and presentable always in compliance with CFC’s Workplace Health & Safety Standards and Policies.

Completes all assigned record-keeping duties, such as shop work orders, daily.

Working as part of the CFC team (with Managers, CVOR Supervisor, HR Coordinator), ensures that company objectives, customer service levels, employee relations and inter- branch relations are improved and promoted.

REQUIREMENTS

Requires a high school completion plus 310T experience or familiarity or applicable Post-Secondary School experience.

Minimum of 5 years of related experience.       

Comprehensive knowledge of MTO, Transport Canada and TSSA regulatory requirements.

Proven experience and knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and vehicle/equipment mechanics.

Effective organizational skills to execute and deliver plans and commitments on time and on budget.

Minimum of intermediate level computer skills. (Microsoft Office suite)

Must also possess a driving abstract that represents a history of safe operation, as well as the ability to maintain insurability.

Demonstrates safe driving techniques, with ability to operate a vehicle safely and efficiently in adverse road, weather, and traffic conditions; demonstrated time management such as determining cost efficient routes.

Demonstrates ability to read maps, bills of lading, follow specific delivery directions and instructions, follow posted safety rules and safe operating procedures to ensure proper techniques are performed.

Demonstrates basic math skills, such as the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure and understanding of basic computer skills as they relate to the position.

Proven ability to work independently, and in a team-oriented environment, and achieve results through others.

Understanding of basic computer skills as they relate to the custom application business.

May be required to work extended hours, particularly during peak seasons.

Customer Service Representative – Picton store

Since 2002, County Farm Centre’s retail store has provided customers with a one-stop shop offering a friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming shopping experience. We offer a wide variety of products that range from frozen food to work gear, Tools to Toy and everything in between. Now we are looking to add to our team to continue our legacy of serving the Quinte region.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

An ideal candidate must be friendly, caring, and able to provide excellent customer service. They must be able to work well within a team environment but are also self-motivated enough to perform capably on their own. Eagerness and the ability to learn new tasks are important to the success and future growth of the County Farm Centre. Some of the daily job functions include:

-Greeting and welcoming customers

-Providing knowledgeable support to customers

-process transactions through stores point of sale system while handling cash operations,

-stocking shelves/freezers in the store and warehouse,

– Help load vehicles for curbside pick up

-answer general inquiries via the telephone

-Assist in cleaning and disinfecting the store.

This job will involve being on your feet for an 8 hour shift, some heavy lifting of stock (up to 50 lbs.), working in our freezers for short periods of time at temperatures of -18°C/0°F is also required (Coat provided)

REQUIREMENTS

310T Mechanic

To accomplish this CFC needs to have a fleet of vehicles that are safe and well maintained. We are currently looking to add a 310T Mechanic to our Belleville team to continue our legacy of serving the Quinte region.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Under the direction of the Belleville Branch Manager, the 310T Mechanic’s primary responsibility is to perform repairs, preventative maintenance as well as yearly safeties to our fleet of trucks, equipment, and facilities. Must be able to work well within a team environment but are also self-motivated enough to perform capably on their own. Eagerness and the ability to learn new tasks are important to the success and future growth of the County Farm Centre.

  1. Maintenance of equipment and/or vehicles includes lubricating parts, checking fluid levels, refilling equipment tanks, and performing minor and major repairs.
  2. Keeps equipment and vehicles clean to maintain professional appearance.
  3. Participate in special projects such as new fabrications as needed.
  4. Assists in inventory physical counting, as required.
  5. Drives and operates plant equipment and machinery, such as loaders, forklifts, and/or trucks safely for the purposes of diagnosing issues or testing repairs, which includes performing the required daily checks to minimize risks, injury, and property damage, inside and/or outside the facility as required.
  6. Ensures the safe operation of equipment used in moving goods on the site premises; also, regularly cleans and maintains equipment and/or vehicles used in receiving and shipping and keeps the storage facilities clean, organized, and presentable always in compliance with CFC’s Workplace Health & Safety Standards and Policies.
  7. Completes all assigned record-keeping duties, such as shop work orders, daily.

 REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in automotive/truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance and repair or completion of accredited vocational technical school program.
  • Must possess a valid 310T licence.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Works under minimal supervision. May periodically assist in orienting and training lower apprentices.
  • Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair
  • Working knowledge of fuel, ignition, cooling, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and air brake systems
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and practices necessary while operating or repairing vehicles and equipment
  • Skill in operating tools equipment, parts and procedures utilized during the repair and servicing of vehicles and equipment.
  • Skill in repair of special purpose equipment
  • Ability to diagnose defects in and repair a variety of equipment and vehicles.
  • Ability to perform minor and moderately complex mechanical repair on a variety of equipment and vehicles.
  • Ability to complete required paperwork to accurately document repairs, utilization of parts and associated repair times.
  • Demonstrates safe driving techniques, with ability to operate a vehicle safely and efficiently in adverse road, weather, and traffic conditions; demonstrated time management such as determining cost efficient routes.

Agronomy & Energy Operator

Since 1994, County Farm Centre has been providing the Quinte Region with the very best in Agronomy services, Fuel/Home Heat Delivery, Livestock Feed and Retail shopping. Teamwork, collaboration and providing extraordinary customer-service are at the heart of everything we do here and now we are looking to add to our team to continue our legacy of serving the Quinte region. We are currently looking for Agronomy/Energy Operators to add to our team. Future advancement into a part sales role is also a possibility within the company. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Working out of the Belleville Branch this position is a hybrid role where from April-November you will be working as an Agronomy employee running custom application equipment (Vector & Sprayers) for the Spring plant season. Then from November-April you will be working as an Energy employee delivering bulk propane to our customers.

An ideal candidate must be friendly, a team player, have a great attention to detail and have a strong & clean driving record. They must be able to demonstrate the ability and be eager to learn new tasks and skills that are important to the success and future growth of the County Farm Centre. Some of the daily job functions include:

1) Operates heavy equipment (i.e., dry fertilizer applicator, bulk propane delivery vehicle), in a safe and effective manner to minimize risk, injury and property damage.

2) Applies crop nutrient products to fields and growing crops according to recommended rates and procedures. Records application data according to regulations and standards.

3) Provide exceptional customer service and ensure accurate safe transportation and delivery of propane to customers.

4) Drives and operates plant equipment and machinery, such as loaders, forklifts, and/or trucks safely which includes performing the required daily checks to minimize risks, injury, and property damage, inside and/or outside the facility as required.

5) Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

1) a high school diploma, college diploma, or equivalent, or a combination of experience and training to provide the required knowledge and skills.

2) Must possess a driving abstract that represents a history of safe operation, as well as the ability to maintain insurability. Must have a valid DZ or A/Z license with air brakes and a minimum of 3 years driving D/Z or A/Z driving experience.

3) Able to drive both a manual and automatic transmission.

4) May be required to work extended hours, particularly during peak seasons.

5) Proven ability to work independently, and in a team-oriented environment, and achieve results through others.

6) Any prior experience with Custom Application Equipment and or Bulk Propane delivery would be an asset.
